I am trying to link my bank account or debt into CreditU, and it is not connecting:

  • Verify that you are entering the correct login details for your financial institution.
  • Confirm you are using the most recent version of CreditU and that your phone’s operating system is up to date.
  • Sometimes, the problem is due to a temporary server issue with your financial institution. Please wait a few hours and try again
  • Smaller banks and credit unions may not yet be part of our network. Please reach out to our IT Support team to confirm that your bank is integrated with CreditU.

How can I cancel Premium?
For Apple Users:

  • Go to Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions. Tap the CreditU subscription, then tap Cancel Subscription
  • Should you have any issues canceling, please reach out to Apple Support

How can I reset my password?

  • In the app go to > Menu > My Password
  • On the login screen go to > Forgot Password

How frequently is financial data updated in CreditU (credit score, budget history, etc.)?
Linked financial data is updated once per month for Premium users.

How can I upgrade to Premium?

  • Go to Profile > Menu >Premium Membership
  • Follow the on-screen prompts

Does accessing my credit score with CreditU impact my score?
No, accessing your credit score with CreditU does not impact your credit score.

How secure is my financial data with CreditU?
At CreditU user data security is of the utmost importance. As a result, CreditU uses encryption and other security measures to protect your financial data.

How can I link my checking or savings account to automate my budget data?
Premium users can link by going to > My Money > Assets > Add Another > Link Account

What type of accounts can I connect to?
Checking, savings, credit cards, loans

How much does it cost?
There is a free version of the app, but there are also premium features. The premium plan is $12.99 per month.

Is my personal financial information secure in the app?
CreditU uses top-level encryption to ensure that your data is safe. We take security extremely seriously.

Is CreditU available in multiple languages?
Not yet, CreditU is available in English only. We may have a Spanish version available at a later date.

Can I share access to CreditU with my partner or family members?
CreditU accounts are meant for individuals, so if you want to share access with your partner or family members, you will have to give them your login credentials.

How is CreditU different from all the other finance apps out there? Can I dump my other finance apps and use CreditU as a replacement?
CreditU is a one-stop-shop for all your personal finance needs. Other finance apps often focus on one specific aspect of personal finance, like budgeting or paying off debt. With CreditU, you can connect your bank accounts to view your whole financial picture, create a budget, set and track different financial goals, track spending, and become more financially literate through our personalized financial education resources.

How do I delete my account?
The Delete Account button will be available in the Profile section of CreditU.
Profile > Tap the 3 lines >Scroll down to “Delete My Account” > Follow the screen prompts to complete the deletion of your account. Alternatively, you can contact us at CreditUSupport@consumercredit.com for assistance.

CreditU uses AI to create personalized financial education resources to help you make the best financial decisions for yourself.

Does CreditU offer tools to help me reduce debt or improve my credit score?
Yes, CreditU was created by American Consumer Credit Counseling, so users will be able to enroll in a debt management program if needed. CreditU also offers personalized financial education resources tailored to your specific financial needs, empowering you to take the steps you need to pay off debt and/or improve your credit score.

Can I use my existing ACCC client portal account to log into CreditU?
No, you will need to create a new account in CreditU.

How can I view my DMP details in CreditU?
When creating an account, be sure to use the same email address as the one used in your client portal. That will give you access to the ‘My DMP’ section where users can access their client portal.

Why does CreditU keep asking for my financial details every time I open it?
Make sure you’re using the latest version of the app by checking for updates in the Appstore. If it still happens, hit “Restore purchases” at the bottom of the premium screen to skip this step and go straight to your dashboard.

Why can’t I add more than one expense item in each budget category?
Users can edit or remove expense items, but currently CreditU limits each category to one expense item to simplify budgeting and prioritize spending effectively.

How do I edit my financial information in CreditU after the initial setup?
Go to the item you want to change, tap the three dots (⋮) beside it, and update as needed.
